Achieving the desired effect

A specialization in gilded frames coexists with conservation of other types of objects, ranging from fine European horse-drawn carriages and Greco-Roman artifacts to Civil War saddles and modern sculpture.

The historical integrity of the object is of primary importance. Minimal treatment must stabilize the object so that it may survive with its cultural information intact. Additional steps can improve the appearance of a damaged object by correcting previous restorations or compensating for lost components and surfaces.

After the object is examined you will be provided with treatment options and firm prices that reflect ethical practices, best materials, and attractive results. The final plan will satisfy both the needs of the object and the visual preferences of the client. Your object will be kept and treated in a clean climate-controlled studio with monitored security, and you are encouraged to visit any work in progress.

I can assist you with many types of antiques, folk art, decorative arts, and industrial objects, including those made of wood, leather, porcelain, plaster, metal and marble. I look forward to helping you care for your possessions through my work, through a referral, or through practical advice.
